The best part of the lake for kitesurfing is definitely the south coast because of the sandy shallow water and laminar north-west winds(when Hungary is in the backside position of a cyclon). So lake Balaton is good for all wind directions but you have to be experienced, because only the south part offers shallow water for the first 200meters. Wind conditions are not the best, because we don't have any thermal wind only wind caused by a weather system passing by. The biggest official kite beach is situated between Siofok and Sosto, called "Strandcamp" on the south coast of Balaton. Good for all winds except for the south winds!
