urosk
Vale nekaj zate: :D http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2341935&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 looking at buying new kites next week as my bar and bridle of my 9m waroo just gave away (again...). heres the choises: -Flexifoil Ion2 6m & 10.5m -Slingshot Rev 7m & 11m to keep it short: in favor of the flexifoil ion2: -bridles are great quality! dealer has never had any issues with these ever! they are way thicker and other material than the Rev. -I like the simplicity of the bar, also no stopper that can wear out your depowerlines (my 2007 best bar got eaten out in half a years use because of the stopper putting so much wear on the lines). I'm also more familiar with the depowerstrap above the bar instead of the depowercleat below the bar. -the dealer is right nearby, he gives great service and theres 1year free-repair included! he's open 7/7 so if you break down on a windy day you can just use a kite while he repairs yours and everything is fixed very quickly!! Doubts: I really think the 6meter will be too little to use a whole lot, I have a 5m waroo now and I barely use it. it starts early but it needs a lot more wind to be nicely powered for big air etc!! so I pretty much only use it for waveriding :s (ps I am 65kg's) in favor of the slingshot rev: -it's more recent, its probably better performing unhooked and for freestyle -the sizing is a bit bigger. maybe a little more lowend on the 11m rev compared to the 10.5 Ion but more importantly the 7m rev should come close to a 8-9meter Ckite! whereas the 6meter Ion might never have that serious grunt under 30knots?? Doubts: there's 4pulley's on this kite (wich can jam up) and the bridles are not made as strong as the flexifoil ion although they do look easy to replace!! -the dealer is based 150km's away from my place, so I don't have to count on any real service from him other than spareparts... Conclusion: I'd hate to buy a 2kite quiver and choose my kites too little, also don't forget the fact that by the time that these kites will be 2 years old I probably won't be so light anymore! Also reliability of my material is a big point, flexi and SS undoubtedly are the leading brands in kite construction (bomberproof!!) but I have a big fear of bridle-eating kites like my waroo's 2006 I will try to test both this week and make up my own mind but I would definitely appreciate your comments aswell!! (definitely on the 6meter ion2 windrange) Thanks for your advice!
