dr.lojz
Friday 3rd October 2003 For immediate release LIGHT WINDS RESULT IN NO COMPETITION TODAY AT THE BODY GLOVE EUROPEAN KITESURFING CHAMPIONSHIP 2003 IN TARIFA, SPAIN. Contest Director Richard Gowers was today unable to run any heats at the Body Glove European Kitesurfing Championship 2003 in Tarifa. Blazing sunshine could not compensate for the lack of wind, which was forecast to build throughout the day but in the end never materialised. “We came really close to having a competition today but the wind was just not constant enough above 12 knots,” explained Richard Gowers. “However the judges all enjoyed a fine afternoon’s surfing in the three foot waves.” The only rider with cause for celebration today was France’s Jeremie Eloy, who enjoyed his 25th birthday by getting sunburnt on the beach reading a book. Conditions are forecast to improve through tomorrow with the wind due to move round to the lavente direction, building throughout the weekend.
